#6 Roast Beef And Provolone Sandwich @ Jersey Mike's Subs

$12.00 + tax

This place recently opened down the street from where I work, not far from an Ike's Sandwich's.  My initial impression is that I'd have to really give this place another try before I come to any firm conclusions, but with an Ike's so close Jersey Mike's will have to work extra hard!

The sandwich I got was their #6 a Roast Beef And Provolone sandwich.  As  you can see not much roast beef and a ton of shredded lettuce.  I don't mind lettuce, but not as a main on a roast beef sandwich!  The only other qualms with this visit was that the sandwich was drenched in oil, i didn't sense any vinegar either, and the oil was not very flavorful either.  There is nothing worse than a dry sandwich, but this was almost too much oil.  The last item might have been my fault, in my asking for no tomato, they may have taken that to also include no sauces/dressings of any kind.  So while not "dry" there was no mayo, no mustard, etc.  I would have loved to have a creamed horseradish and some mustard on the sandwich.

Again I'll give this place another go and get maybe one of their warm sandwiches, as well as their signature sandwich the #13 or italian.  When I do i'll post another article or update this one.

2am Chili - How To Make Chili "Like A Boss"

Over on the reddit  user tylercap  posted his recipe for Chili, "Like A Boss" that he likes to make at 2am between sessions of Black Ops.  However unlike the traditional listing of ingredients in a 3x5 index card format or video of the process tylercap decided to post pics along with some stick figures showing the process.  Also if you're unfamiliar with the meme "Like a Boss" check out the bottom of the post for the youtube clip from Andy Samberg of SNL and thelonlyisland . nsfw language and imagery for both chili and "like a boss" video after the jump.

POPUP SHOP - Modo Mochi Donut @ Mitsuwa Marketplace in San Jose

$20 for a dozen!!! (other food, and tax/tip not included) People have lost their damn minds once again in the "craze" of these Hawaiian Mochi Donuts!  We arrived after lunch at the Mitsuwa Marketplace in San Jose off Saratoga Ave.  The line was out the door! My friends got in line, I went in to scope out how long it would be.   I passed the automatic doors and saw the line twisted to and fro, back and forth, amongst various food stands and displays.  I inquired the length of time people were waiting, 2-3 hrs was the wait time.   OMG! No frick'n way!!!   No pastry was worth that wait!Luckily, my friend came in to see the line size and saw their sister in law and was able to snag a few to share with us! Thanks CHAN!  The max you could get for one person was a dozen for $20.    Now don't get me wrong, the donuts were very tasty and had that slight chewiness of fresh pastries combined with mochi, but they weren't mind blowing crazy go
