Homemade Mayonnaise Recipe - 2 Minutes or Less

The good folks over at serious eats put up this video a while ago on how to make quick and dead simple mayo in 2 min or less!  The great thing about this is that it's a "base recipe" which you can tweak to your hearts content and make it fit almost any occasion where mayo is called for.

Want to spice up those sammies, or devil up some eggs, with this as your base you can't go wrong!  I personally like to add a bit of chili oil and cayenne or a chipotle w/adobo and get a nice and spicy mayo, cracked black pepper is also great, and you can even add dry mustard for a mustardy/mayo combo!

Here is the base recipe (which you'll need a stick blender):
  • 1 Egg Yolk
  • 1 T Water
  • 1 T Dijon Mustard
  • 1/2 Lemon (Juice)
  • 1 Cup Oil (Neutral flavored or flavored if making a flavored mayo!)
  • (salt and or pepper to taste)

2am Chili - How To Make Chili "Like A Boss"

Over on the reddit user tylercap posted his recipe for Chili, "Like A Boss" that he likes to make at 2am between sessions of Black Ops.  However unlike the traditional listing of ingredients in a 3x5 index card format or video of the process tylercap decided to post pics along with some stick figures showing the process.  Also if you're unfamiliar with the meme "Like a Boss" check out the bottom of the post for the youtube clip from Andy Samberg of SNL and thelonlyisland.

nsfw language and imagery for both chili and "like a boss" video after the jump.
